If you have a garden, you have everything in this world…. a world of your own, to plant, nurture and grow…. not only plants but your soul!
Glen and Janine engaged us for a landscape design and construction project. The brief was to create a holiday oasis complete with a pool. They wanted somewhere to enjoy breakfast and an area for evening dining. They often have friends and family to stay so an area for informal get-togethers was also on the wish list. We created a 2D and 3D video of the project.
We used a beautiful drop face bluestone capping around the pool and cypress timber for the deck to create a coastal feel for the pool. Large organic round bluestone steppers were used to connect the pool area to a reading nook on the highest point of the property situated under a mature Tee tree. Garden lighting was used to light the path and enhance the feature tree.
A large area of bluestone paving in French pattern was laid to connect the dining area to the pool. We used unique Moroccan tiles as a feature of the sunken lounge. Cypress timber seats have hidden LED strip lighting to create a soft light for visitors. A gas firepit is used often in this area. A breakfast deck constructed from MOD wood has a view across the lounge to the pool and down the connecting path at the side of the house. Numerous bamboo plants give a tropical/coastal feeling to the property. Date palm and bromeliads are mass planted under the tee tree leading to the reading nook. Garden irrigation is used throughout the garden beds for easy maintenance. A waterfall at the end of the pool cleverly disguises the pool equipment.
The house walls that were exposed to concrete for the paving base were protecting with builder’s plastic to avoid unwanted concrete splash. Existing trees and plants were marked to avoid accidental removal. The property was pressure washed and the windows cleaned after the project.
